QUESTION: How did you feel when you found out you were one of five first-prize winners of the Toyota Agent for Change contest?
ANSWER: Surprised, I didn't think I won.
Q: Where did the idea for your pamphlet come from?
A: My grandfather has a compost area in our yard where we make compost out of leaves and kitchen waste and then we use it in our tomato plants.
Q: Why is helping the environment important?
A: Because we are running out of space to dump garbage, there is a lot of soil erosion and we need to take care of our earth.
Q: How will your pamphlet help others?
A: They'll learn how to compost yard waste and kitchen waste. They'll see that it is not hard to do and you will have great flowers and vegetables while you are helping the earth.
Q: How can other kids be a leader like you?
A: They can recycle plastic, cans and newspapers and remind people how important it is to protect our environment.
Q: Why is it important companies like Toyota develop new hybrid technology?
A: A hybrid vehicles doesn't pollute the air as much because it has a cleaner emission rate and uses less gas.
Q: What do you want to do with your future?
A: I want to be a lawyer and maybe run for senator because I want to change things.
