She's from New York, and a 4th grader in The Chapel School. Her favorite sport is tennis, she loves to collect stuffed animals (especially bears)–and she's a star at helping the environment.
QUESTION: How does it feel to be a first-prize winner of the Toyota contest?
ANSWER: It feels awesome because I worked really hard on my pamphlet.
Q: Did your teacher encourage you to enter the contest?
A: Yes, my teacher, Mrs. Flannery, talked to my whole class about why we need to protect the environment and she told us we would all enter the contest.
Q: Why is helping the environment important?
A: If we did not have our environment where would we be?
Q: How do you think the pamphlet you created will help others?
A: I think if people see my pamphlet they will realize that many things they are doing today are hurting the environment. Hopefully, they will also realize that there are simple changes they can make in their life to help protect the environment.
Q: What did people do when they heard you were a winner of the Toyota Agent for Change contest?
A: My teacher told my whole class and principal that I was the winner of the contest. My teacher made an announcement and the class cheered and clapped for me. They are all very excited for me. My family is so happy and proud of me
Q: How can other kids be leaders in helping the environment?
A: Other kids can take steps to be a kid leader like me by following the ideas in my pamphlet, and coming up with other ideas on their own.
Q: Why is it important that companies like Toyota develop new technologies?
A: It is important because we need to be able to drive cars that do not pollute the air.
Q: What do you want to do with your future?
A: When I grow up I want to be a scholar student and a dentist!
Q: How will you continue to help the environment?
I will share my ideas on the how to protect the environment with other kids, so they can tell their parents. I will also plant trees, flowers and buy a hybrid car!
