Dear TFK...

Each month on timeforkids.com, we publish letters we receive from kids around the country. You can have a chance to get your letter published too. Just write to us and tell us what you think about the articles you read in the magazine this week. Make sure that your first name, last initial, age and state are all included.

We love hearing from TFK readers. Send your thoughts to emailbag@timeforkids.com.

A Brighter Future

It is great that there are organizations that are trying to help girls get educations ["Making Sure Girls Count," 11/13]. I was so surprised that this kind of discrimination is still going on in some countries. Some of the smartest people in history were women. Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize two times!

The Great Debate

I don't think schools should use e-books ["Goodbye, Books?" 11/20]. What happens if the power on the e-book runs out? Pressing a button to turn a page isn't the same as turning a real page.
Joshua Z., 10, CT

Our 5th grade class thinks the e-readers are AWESOME! They are definitely a thing of the future. We like that an entire book can be downloaded in 60 seconds. We agree that our backpacks couldn't hold 1,500 booksÑthat would be terribly heavy! One student thinks that running out of battery life would be a drag, if you were in the middle of your favorite book.
Mrs. DeBennette's 5th Grade Class, IL

Cool Inventions

I can't believe there's a car that is able to run on chocolate and vegetable oil ["Coolest Inventions of 2009," 12/11]. The Honda U3-X personal mobility device looks awesome too! Also, I never would have guessed that it would take more than a million orb spiders to spin that 11-foot cloth. This was a great article.

Your Money

I really enjoyed reading your article about holiday shopping and gifts ["Money Matters," 12/11]. I think it's very important to save money and not spend more that you can afford. Sometimes, you just can't resist the temptation to buy something, even if you know you don't need it. I think it's a good idea to make a shopping list so you know what you are going to buy, and how much you will spend.
