Family Leaves: What will you bring to the family table this fall? Try a fun and leafy placemat!
What You Need:
• A family helper or two
• Leaves
• Construction paper
• Glue or glue stick
• Clear Con-Tact paper
• Scissors
• Paints (preferably acrylic)
• Brushes
• Markers/crayons
• Camera (optional)
• Printer (optional)

What You Do:
1.Gather the family together for a leaf-collecting expedition.
2. Optional: While you're outside enjoying the colors of fall, use a digital camera to snap a shot of the whole family. Print out the picture.
3.Back inside, select or cut a piece of construction paper that is about the size of a placemat.
4. Paste a picture or drawing of the family in the center of the mat. (You can use the picture from step 2 if you have a digital camera and a printer.)
5. Create a fun pattern of leaf prints on the mat around your picture or drawing. To make a print, just brush paint onto a leaf and press it onto the mat.
6. Use markers or crayons to add finishing touches.
7. Wait for your placemats to dry and then laminate them using clear Con-Tact paper.

Enjoy the delicious colors of fall at meals all year long!
