Waves crash against huge natural rock formations in southern Baja California, the longest peninsula in the world. At Scammon's Lagoon on Baja's west coast, lucky tourists may spot gray whales that have traveled 6,000 miles from the Arctic Circle to give birth to their young in warmer waters. The whales stay in the lagoon from early January to early March.
