These statues silently stand guard at Tula, an ancient city 40 miles north of Mexico City. A warrior people known as the Toltecs created them and established Tula as their capital. These skilled builders, weavers and metalworkers dominated the Valley of Mexico (near present-day Mexico City) from 950-1200 A.D.
