At age 26, golf pro Tiger Woods is on top of his game. Considered the best and most famous golfer in the world, he is also the youngest in history to win all four major golf championships in a row. TFK Kid Reporter Mia Kabasakalis, a competitive golfer herself, got a chance to interview Tiger one-on-one.
Mia was told Tiger would not discuss golf's big debate over allowing women to play at the all-male Augusta National Gold Club. But she did get to ask him about being a golf pro, playing as a kid, his new video game and whether he can carry a tune.
TFK: I know you have a new video game out called the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003. What do you think kids will like most about the new game?
Tiger: I think what they’ll like most about the game is how realistic it is. I’ve been to Saint Andrews and played at Pebble Beach. Those courses are exactly how they are in person.

Tiger: Its pretty cool. I wish I was that buffed out!
TFK: What’s your favorite video game?
Tiger: Besides mine? (Laughs) It would probably have to be Madden.
TFK: Do you want your kids to play golf if you have any?
Hear Tiger's answer!
TFK: If you could be anything else in the world besides a golfer, what would you be?
Tiger: I’d love to be able to dunk from the free-throw line, really.
TFK: Really?
Tiger: (Laughs) It’s gotta be basketball. I’ve always been a hoop fan.
TFK: Did you play other sports besides golf when you were a kid?
Tiger: Yeah, I played baseball, and ran track and cross-country.
TFK: What is your favorite childhood memory?
Tiger: When I was 11, I had straight As, I had three recesses a day, I had the cutest girlfriend in sixth grade, and I won 33 tournaments that year. My life peaked at 11. It’s been downhill ever since.

Hear Tiger's answer!
TFK: Oh. (Laughs) What is the best and worst part about being a pro?
Tiger: The best part would have to be competing. Playing against the best, all around the world, and beating them, too! The worst part is packing.
TFK: Who was your hero growing up?
Hear Tiger's answer!
TFK: What makes your really happy?
Hear Tiger's answer!
TFK: What was your best career win?
Tiger: My most memorable one happened when I was 8. I was playing the Junior World Championships. I was 5 back going to the final day and I shot 5 under to win. We came back and we all celebrated my win.
TFK: So, do you have a pet peeve?
Tiger: Being late. You’re a golfer. You know you can never be late or else you’re not playing. And it’s carried over to my life, where I can’t stand being late.
TFK: Did you ever want to quit golf as a young kid? Did you ever get mad at your dad, or the sport?
Tiger: I never got mad at my dad or my sport, but I certainly got mad at my self a lot. I just can’t stand not playing up to my abilities.
TFK: Do you have any plans to make more Tiger games in the future?
Tiger: Yeah, certainly. I would like to do this forever. If EA Sports would allow me, I would love to do that.
