TFK Kid Reporter Competition

Are you a good writer who loves the news? Do you like to interview people to find out what makes them tick? Do you dream of being a reporter or an editor?

If this sounds like you, then enter the TFK Kid Reporter Competition. We're looking for 16 students from around the nation to be members of the TFK Kid Reporter Team for the 2005-2006 school year. Next year's team will continue the tradition of reporting local and regional news stories for TIME FOR KIDS magazine and TIME For Kids online.

President Bush Barack Obama Hilary Clinton Talked with leading lawmakers such as Senators John McCain and Elizabeth Dole and Congressional House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at the Democratic and Republican national conventions.
Interviewed award-winning authors and illustrator, including Chris Van Allsburg, Cynthia Kadohata and Kadir Nelson.
Sat down with Cabinet members such as Donald Rumsfeld and former Secretary of Education Rod Paige.
Had conversations with athletes, including Lebron James and Tiger Woods.
Interviewed celebrities including Ben Affleck, Alyssa Milano and Ming-Na.

How to Enter:
1) Include a report about an interesting or unique event you covered in your school or community. The story should include a headline plus quotes from people you've interviewed.

2) Complete the official entry form. You must be 13 years of age or younger as of September 1, 2005, and entries must be postmarked by June 1, 2005. Be sure to read the official rules and share them with your parent or guardian.
