What is your favorite school subject?
Communications and African American Studies
When/how did you first know you wanted to write?
In middle and high school I always did better in English than I did in any other subject, so I decided to focus my education on an area that involved a lot of writing. After writing countless school papers, I have grown to really like writing, and I often try to turn boring assignments into fun activities.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I get to do different things almost everyday, and I learn a lot. I also like the opportunity to write, as well as to learn about how a business is run.
How did you develop a nose for the news?
I am interested in the news because I am a naturally curious person. I always know interesting things before my friends do.
How do you overcome writer's block?
Usually I do something completely unrelated to the topic that I am writing about for a little while, and then I come back to it later.
What do you write best with or on?
I usually write best on my computer and with R&B music like Erykah Badu that won’t distract me in the background.
Who do you look up to?
I really look up to my mom. She has always been very supportive, and has always provided me with the tools that I need to succeed.
