As everyone knows a very unfortunate event took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Many lives were lost, and we are still searching for many people at this point. As I walked out to lunch I saw people gathered around one of my friends. They were asking questions like, "Is it bad?" and, "When will we find out?"
After recess was over we went inside. Teachers looked really upset. Some were even crying. The teachers gave us some more information. We talked about it and wrote down our thoughts. We had a silent minute and an assembly. We sang patriotic songs and honored those who died.
Here are some thoughts from kids at my school:
"I didn't want to go back to school the next day. I didn't feel safe in my own school."
"I think what has happened is horrible because it makes everyone wonder how safe they are. I just hope that there won't be any wars."
"This is such a horrible thing that it made me question whether I was having a nightmare or actually living."
