Last Tuesday, Oprah Winfrey opened a school for needy girls in South Africa. Winfrey got the idea to build a school six years ago when she met with former South African president Nelson Mandela. The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls has 152 students. The students are ages 11 and 12. "It is my hope that this school will become the dream of every South African girl," said Mandela at the opening ceremony.
