It's a Great One!

Jacob is six. He has an eight-year-old sister, Abigail. He calls her "the Great One," because Abigail thinks she's so great. She calls him "the Pain," because she thinks he's, well, a pain. Author Judy Blume calls them two of her favorite characters.

Blume's new book, Soupy Saturdays with the Pain and the Great One, is a follow-up to her picture book The Pain and the Great One, which was published in 1974. "I have had story ideas for years in a little file, and finally it was, like, now or never!" Blume told TFK.

Blume just wants kids to enjoy her books. "It's a funny book, it's got funny illustrations. I want (kids) to know that reading is fun," she said.
