Buried Beauty?

Cleopatra ruled Egypt more than 2,000 years ago. Much is known about the powerful queen. But a mystery remains: Where was she buried? Last week, archaeologists (are-key-ahl-uh-jists) announced that they may have found her tomb.

For the past three years, they have been digging at the site of a temple. It is located near ancient Egypt's capital, Alexandria.

The team found 22 coins, a mask (below) and the head of a statue. The face on the coins and statue may be Cleopatra's. Zahi Hawass, Egypt's chief archaeologist, is excited about the treasures. "If this tomb is found, it will be one of the most important discoveries of the century," he says.
