What's this book about? This is a true story about a young girl who lived during the Holocaust, went into hiding from the Nazis during World War II, and kept a famous journal of her life in hiding.

What will you learn from reading this book? You will learn about being brave in the face of incredible difficulties and about the experience of one Holocaust victim.

Would you recommend this book to kids? Why or why not? I would and wouldn't at the same time because it has important information, but the graphic details might be too upsetting for younger children. I would recommend it for older kids because it is interesting to learn about the Holocaust from a girl who was our age. It is important to learn about this time in history so that we can learn from it and prevent it from happening again.

What's not-so-great about the book? The pages are too full of information at times.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this book? Explain. I would rate this book an 8 because it was interesting and it is important to learn a lot about the Holocaust and Anne Frank's diary. This book showed her struggle to stay hopeful about her horrible situation. She tried to stay optimistic when she heard rumors that the allies were winning the war. Even in the concentration camp she told stories and jokes to a group of girls to try to lift their spirits. Her attitude teaches kids that no matter how hard your life gets, you should try to stay optimistic.
