What's the Story? Twelve-year-old Jack (Alex Neuberger) gets the surprise of his life when he discovers that his new pet is anything but ordinary. Thanks to a laboratory accident, his dog has been given incredible superpowers, including the ability to speak in a human voice. Sporting a striking superhero costume, Underdog (voiced by Jason Lee) flies over Capitol City, protecting its citizens and watching over one special spaniel named Polly Purebread (voiced by Amy Adams). When an evil scientist threatens to destroy the city, the crime-fighting canine sets out to stop him. Underdog knows he is the citizens' only hope, but does he have the power to save the city? Did You Know? Underdog was originally an animated television series that ran from 1964 to 1973. In the cartoon, Underdog needed to take a “Super Energy Vitamin Pill” in order to release his powers. |
