Another kid gives Ash a packet of peanuts (click here to see it). "These are his favorite," he tells her. "He'll go ANYWHERE to get them!" Ash places the photo and peanuts in her bag as evidence. "So who was the last person to see Lucky?" Ash asks Mrs. Singer. "Well, I'll have to see the sign-out record," she replies. "The sign-out record?" "Yes, we let students borrow Lucky and be his foster parents," explains Mrs. Singer. "The change of scenery is good for him, and the kids learn to be responsible for something besides themselves." Mrs. Singer shows Ashley the record. Ash is beginning to wonder if she's dealing with a lost hamster or a library book! After a few seconds of reviewing the record, Ashley's jaw drops when she sees the name of Lucky's most recent owner. "Oh no," she whispers. (click here to see that page).
