Ashley interviews a few students, teachers and football players on the scene, but they don't know what happened. Even Ash's good friend Bobby Dunkin, who helped organize the school carnival, shrugs. Principal Quinlan offers a $100 reward for Lucky's return.

The next day, Ash gets a strange call.

"Hey, is this Ashley Stevens? THE Ashley Stevens who broke the story about last year's big cafeteria scandal?" says the voice on the other line.

"Yeah, that's me," says Ashley. "Who's asking?"

"Mitch Greene from Wheatley. I think I found your school's poor little hamster. There's a reward, right?"

Ash rolls her eyes. This is the same Mitch Greene who tried making money by hacking into school computers and changing kids' grades. Nobody trusts him, even at Wheatley!
