What's the Story? School's out for the summer and the Pearsons are ready to kick back at their vacation home in Maine. But soon after arriving the family discovers that they're not the only ones staying at the house. An alien named Sparks (voiced by Josh Peck) is living in their attic. While the little guy is friendly, his friends are far from peaceful. The evil space invaders are determined to conquer Earth. Using special mind-control plugs, the aliens turn the grown-ups in the house into human puppets. But the device doesn't work on the Pearson kids: 7-year-old Hannah, 15-year-old Tom and big sister Bethany (High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale). Their younger cousins don't seem to be affected either. Can the children rescue their parents, save the planet and salvage their vacation? Did You Know? Co-writer Mark Burton says his inspiration for the imaginative story of the film came from the real world. One day, Burton and his wife had some friends over to their house. The adults were sitting in the kitchen chatting while the kids were being rowdy upstairs. Says Burton, "I just looked up at the shaking ceiling and thought, what if that was a real battle and we didn't know? That became the essence of Aliens in the Attic."—Vickie An | |
