What's the Story? Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) is the awkward and unpopular new kid in town. So, when he's asked by his popular singer-songwriter classmate, Charlotte Banks (Aly Michalka, of Aly & AJ), to manage her new rock band, Will is stunned. He can't say no. Charlotte has one goal in mind: to go up against her self-centered ex-boyfriend's band at Bandslam, a battle of the bands competition. With Will's help, Charlotte's band soon finds a catchy name and develops a unique sound. A romance also blossoms between Will and singer/guitarist Sa5m, played by High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens. (And no, that's not a typo—her name really is spelled Sa5m; it's just pronounced "Sam.") Things are looking good all around . . . until disaster strikes. Did You Know? In the movie, Will is a huge fan of 70's rock icon David Bowie.
