Turn It Off!
Next week, millions of people will go TV-free. How about you?

Kathy Hoffman

I liked writing about TV-Turnoff Week because the story was something I could relate to. It was interesting to hear people react to the thought of a week without TV -- as if they'd be terribly bored. Believe it or not, I grew up without a TV until I was about 13! My brother and I didn't realize what we were missing and spent our time reading, bike-riding, playing with friends, etc. We had no problem filling the time. Today, I don't watch that much TV, and when I do, I feel like there are all these other things I should be doing. (Still, I wouldn't want to get rid of my television!)
