Oops, the Change Is Wrong

Washington, we have a problem. Thousands of new Presidential dollar coins featuring George Washington appear to have a big mistake. The coins were minted without any lettering on their edges. Among the missing words are "In God We Trust" and "E Pluribus Unum." The year and the location of the mint where they were made are also absent.

Mint officials believe that most of the flawed coins were made in Pennsylvania. "We take this matter very seriously," said Mint spokesperson Becky Bailey. "We are looking into it."

Coin experts estimate that as many as 50,000 of the coins have the error. One of the flawed coins has already sold for $600. Experts predict the prices will drop significantly once more coins with mistakes turn up.
