Spotlight on Service

Fourth-grade teacher Brent Roberts and his service-minded students from Maplewood K-8, in Edmonds, Washington, are giving the gift of reading. In just eight days this winter, Roberts's class collected 1,000 books to donate to the kids at Fords Prairie Elementary, in Centralia, Washington. Soon after, all of Maplewood's students were inspired to collect and donate books. Roberts told TFK that his kids feel like heroes. "The book drive made them realize that they can make a difference."
