Her Toothbrush Talks!

Katie Stagliano, 9, wants you to turn off the tap. Last month, the third grader's talking toothbrush won the top prize in the Dr. Fresh design contest. Her bright idea: A voice encourages the toothbrush's user to turn off the faucet while brushing. Katie found out that this can save up to eight gallons of water. She vowed to make a change after seeing the effects of the severe drought that hit her home state of South Carolina last year. She has enlisted her parents and classmates to go green. "I hope that people all over the country will hear this message and work to conserve water too," Katie told TFK. Her prizes include a $500 savings bond and a trip to Disneyland.
