Lemon Is Just Ducky

In 2006, Laura Backman introduced her kindergarten class, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, to a little duckling named LEMON. The duck, which was named for Backman's favorite dessert, lemon meringue pie, couldn't walk. So Backman and her students made a brace to help their feathered friend move around. Now Lemon lives with Backman and goes to school with her every day. "She's a go-getter," Backman told TFK. "She has a real zest for life."
