She's On Top of the World
U.S. skier Lindey Vonn, 24, sped into record books last week. On March 12, Vonn became the first American woman to win the super-G title at the Alpine Ski World Cup finals in Are, Sweden. In the super-G, competitors race down a course that includes high-speed turns and jumps. The victory marks Vonn's ninth World Cup triumph this winter. She holds a U.S. record for the most World Cup wins in one season. A day earlier, Vonn captured the World Cup overall title for the second year in a row. "It's been a crazy season for me," she said.
