I was born on November 27, 1757, in London, England. I was an artist, an engraver and a poet. During my lifetime, my many talents were not recognized. I struggled to make a living. But I made a great impact on generations of writers who studied and admired my work. One of my best-known poems begins: "Tiger Tiger, burning bright, in the forests of the night..."
