Alternative Power Cars - alternative transportation

They look like regular cars, but hybrids, alternative fuel cars, and hydrogen powered vehicles are just a few of the options that produce less pollution and less reliance on oil.

A hybrid, like a Toyota Prius, at center, combines fuel-burning engines and battery-powered electric motors. The alternative fuel 2007 Honda Civic GX, at left, uses compressed natural gas, like the gas used in many patio grills to cook burgers. While the hydrogen powered BMW Hydrogen 7, at left, uses a combustion engine that can burn gas or hydrogen. BMW is working on a hydrogen-only version, but the U.S. will need to have more hydrogen filling stations before that catches on. Other cars that use hydrogen, like fuel cell vehicles, use compressed hydrogen gas to charge batteries that power electric motors.
