Maple Ridge Wind Farm - an alternative power wind farm

Maple Ridge's wind turbines will generate renewable electricity to power 160,000 average New York homes. On land and offshore wind farms are sprouting across the country. New York state plans to generate a quarter of its electricity through renewable power by 2013, one of the most aggressive "green" policies in the U.S. Currently wind energy makes up only 1% of the nation's electricity. The renewable source of energy even offers farmers and ranchers an extra way to make money by using their land for wind turbines and wind power.
