Murphy Jahn
Mercy Housing Lakefront, Chicago - a green housing project for the homeless

Designed by architect firm Murphy Jahn, the Mercy Housing project will give homeless and displaced people a modern energy-saving home. Rooftop wind turbines and solar panels help power the building with a little help from the wind and sun. To conserve water, a rainwater collection system will collect rain for watering the grounds And a "greywater" system will collect water from the sink and shower drains, treat it and store it to be used for flushing toilets. This cuts the buildings water use in half!
