Fresh Kills Parkland, NY - once a landfill, soon a park

A former landfill, the site of 50 years worth of NYCÕs trash and other debris, including the remains of the World Trade Center, is being converted to a lush park. The 2200 acres, almost three times the size of Central Park, will be reclaimed as parkland that may support wildlife and offer community events and recreation like boating, bike paths and horse riding trails.
