Girls' Education: The Biggest Lesson
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
The possibilities are endless. An astronaut! A doctor! A teacher! The President of the United States! The key to these dream jobs, of course, is getting an education. However, over a million kids around the world, especially girls, live in such extreme poverty that even attending just one day of school would be a dream come true.

NetAid is a non-profit organization that works to help these kids fulfill their right to an education. With the help of other organizations, NetAid called on people everywhere to support girls’ education on April 9th and help break the world record for the largest lesson taught at the same time. So far, the global effort has resulted in over 1.3 million supporters of girls’ education in more than 100 countries! To view stories and photos of this historical day from around the world, visit www.netaid.org/actionweek.
The goal is to have all children enrolled in school by the year 2015—a goal set by the United Nations for eliminating poverty. Through different programs and campaigns, NetAid empowers kids to become activists for kids who do not have access to education. You can learn more about the problems kids around the world face and find out what you can do to help by visiting NetAid World Class.
