FIX THE WORLD
Prove Your Worth to the Earth

Find out how you can help protect and preserve our planet

Some people might think that kids are too small, too short, or too young to really help fix the world. Well, that’s just not true! Prove your worth to the Earth by taking one of the Earth-friendly action steps below!

  • Air You Go!
Tell your parents to leave the car (which causes air pollution) behind and walk or ride bikes (remember to wear a helmet) to wherever you’re going. If it’s far, take a bus or train. If many people are driving to the same place, carpooling (sharing car rides) is a great way to cut down on air pollution.
  • Lights Out!
Make sure you turn off all the house lights before you leave home. And don’t leave the television on if no one’s watching. Trust us, your plants and pets can do fine without them!
  • Water You Doing?
Try to only use as much water as you really need. If you’re watering your lawn, make sure sprinklers are watering the grass and not the sidewalk! You can also help by using the dishwasher and washing machine only when they have full loads.
  • Trash Talking
Nothing looks better when it’s trashy. Organize a neighborhood effort to collect and throw out or recycle garbage in your parks, streets, and beaches!
  • Please the Trees
Try to reduce the amount of paper you use by writing or printing on BOTH sides of each sheet to help save trees. Remember to recycle all magazines, newspapers, cans and bottles.
  • Show Your Support
Write personal messages or create pictures showing your support for a cleaner planet. Put them in public places like your yard or in windows. Decorate grocery bags with environmental messages and artwork and return them to the grocery store for others to reuse. And contact your congressperson to let him or her know how your really feel!
