The platypus's duck-like bill and beaver-like tail are really funny-looking - and really useful. Its flat snout helps it scoop up worms and small shellfish to eat, and its webbed feet and flat tail help it swim along rivers. The platypus is unique in another way: It's one of only two mammals in the world that lay eggs. |
