Activity: Learning the Branches of Government
- Ask students to describe the make up of our government. Write responses so all can see.
- Tell students that the U.S. government is made up of three branches, or groups: The Legislative, Executive, and the Judicial.
- Have students fill out the worksheet and discuss in a group.
- Split students into 3 groups to represent the Legislative, Executive and the Judicial bodies.
- Ask students to write a list of reasons their group is necessary for the progress of government.
- Think: Why is it important to have three branches of government?
