Top 5 Oil Users in the World (1980-1999)
Oil is used to make many things: home-heating fuel, gasoline, even plastic. One barrel of oil can make enough gas to power a car through a 700-mile drive. Americans are the world's biggest oil guzzlers. On average, each of us uses 25 barrels of oil a year. That's more than 1,000 gallons apiece! Here are the world's top oil users:
1. U.S. - 19.5 millions of barrels
2. Japan - 5.5 millions of barrels
3. China - 4.5 millions of barrels
4. Germany - 3 millions of barrels
5. Russia - 2.5 millions of barrels
