A New Birdlike Dinosaur
The first clues were toe bones found in a small valley. The scientists followed the clues to a few larger bones sticking out of a cliff. The trail led them to a dinosaur! Scientists introduced their discovery last week. It is a rooster-size meat-eater named Buitreraptor gonzalezorum.
The 90-million-year-old dinosaur was found in South America. It belongs to a group of dinosaurs that were related to ancient birds. Other examples have been found in the United States, and a feathered one was discovered in China.
