More than 12 million Americans have food allergies. This includes about 3 million kids. Foods like shrimp, crab and lobster cause the most problems. Here are the foods that people are most often allergic to.
(1) Shellfish 6 million people
(2) Peanuts 1.8 million (tie)
(3) Tree nuts 1.8 million (tie)
(4) Fish 1.2 million
(5) Milk 900,000
