Answers to Your Questions

We have received hundreds of questions from kids about September 11. We've answered some of them below:

Q: Who attacked the U.S.?

A: Osama bin Laden is probably the man who planned the attacks. He is the leader of a terrorist group and has been hiding in Afghanistan.

Q: Why were we attacked?

A: Experts say the terrorists hate the U.S. and don't share our ideas about freedom. They disagree with our way of life, our government and our dealings with other countries.

Q: Is it safe to fly?

A: The government is working with airlines to make flying safer than ever before. They may put special police, called air marshals, on flights to protect passengers. Guards will be even more careful when checking bags. They won't let any kind of knife on planes, not even nail clippers.
