We Remember
At 8:46 a.m. Eastern time on September 11, the world will pause for a moment of silence. It is the anniversary of a sad day. More than 3,000 people were killed when the U.S. was attacked last September 11. But what many people will remember this yearand foreverare the many acts of courage and sacrifice of America's heroes.
Last week, President George W. Bush said that September 11 would be called Patriot Day. "Those whom we lost last September 11 will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts," he said.
The President ordered that flags on government buildings be flown at half-staff to honor those who died.
