Bush Travels to Asia
Last week, President George W. Bush took a quick eight-day trip. He traveled to six nations. He visited Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, all in Asia. Then he went to Australia.
This was the President's third trip to Asia. But he had very little time to see the sights. Flag-waving supporters and angry protesters greeted Bush along the way.
The President met with world leaders at a meeting in Thailand. The leaders promised to help the U.S. end terrorism. They want to make the world safer. But the main reason for Bush's trip was to thank America's friends for their help. Bush called Australia's prime minister, John Howard, a "leader of exceptional courage."
