Simon Says, "Read Books!"
It's the time for ghosts and creepy creatures. Seymour Simon is in the spirit! His new nonfiction book, Spiders, comes out November 1.
Simon writes to help kids use science to solve problems. He has created more than 200 books. Sometimes he takes the pictures for the books himself.
His books are about subjects such as outer space and animals. Spiders are a favorite. "The way they sense the world is really fascinating," Simon explains.
Simon wrote his first science story in second grade. Almost 40 years later, it was made into a real book. So hold onto your ideas! Says Simon: "Almost everything I write about comes from things I was interested in when I was a kid."
