Remembering A President
Many Americans remember November 22, 1963, as a sad day in history. That's when President John F. Kennedy was killed. He was the 35th President of the United States. "It was a painful day for America," David Lewis told TFK. Lewis teaches government at Princeton University. Now, 40 years later, Americans are thinking about what Kennedy did as President.
Kennedy started a program to help poor families buy groceries. He created the Peace Corps, which helps poor communities around the world. "Kennedy captured America's imagination," Lewis says. "He will always have a special place in our hearts."
