He Catches the Wave!
Aaron Goldin put together parts of an old tape deck, a computer printer and an answering machine to create an award-winning invention. On December 6, Aaron, 17, beat out more than 1,200 teen scientists to win the Siemens Westinghouse Competition. He says his invention, Gyro-Gen, "floats in the ocean and generates electricity from the bobbing motion of the waves." The California teen hopes to generate more energy research with the $100,000 scholarship he won.
