Spotlight: Ben Roethlisberger

They call him Big Ben. Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 241 pounds, Ben Roethlisberger, 22, is certainly large. But the rookie quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers earned his nickname not just for his size, but for his talent. This year, he led his team to 13 straight wins and the league's best record.

Roethlisberger became a star when the Steelers' starting quarterback was injured early in the season. Big Ben played so well as a replacement that he was named offensive rookie of the year. On January 15, he guided the Steelers to victory in their first playoff game of the season. Roethlisberger admits the road to the Super Bowl can be nerve-racking. "The guys are counting on me," he says. "You can't afford too many mistakes, because if you lose, you go home."
