Kind Words
Words can hurt. That's the message of a poem by Sue Anna Yeh, 13, of Texas. In January, she won the No Name-Calling Week contest. Her poem about unkind comments and labels beat out entries from more than 1,600 other kids. An excerpt: "You see, there're labels everywhere/In every single place/'Cause people are too quick to judge/On character and face."
