TFK Q & A: LeAnn Rimes

WHO: LeAnn Rimes, 22

CLAIM TO FAME: In her 10-year career sing-ing pop and country music, Rimes has sold more than 30 million albums. Her new country release, This Woman, hit stores this week.

Q Describe your new album.

A It's really uplifting and lighthearted. A lot of people know me for my ballads, so this will make them see me in a different way. It's music that people will be able to sing and dance to. This is my kind of country music.

Q What was it like to enter the business at 11?

A It was exciting and scary at the same time. For the first few years, I couldn't manage it. It was work all the time. I had to take a break. I needed to be motivated by my love for my music, not by money or success.

Q How is your career different now?

A I have total control over decisions and the things I do, so I enjoy it more than I ever have!

Q What has been the highlight of your career?

A Winning two Grammy Awards at 14 was not so bad! I was the first country artist to ever win the Best New Artist Grammy.
