Mia Hamm and Amy Walsh made history on April 14 at the first game of the new Women’s United Soccer Association. More than 34,000 fans in Washington, D.C., watched as Hamm’s Washington Freedom beat Walsh’s Bay Area CyberRays. The eight-team WUSA is the first major women’s pro soccer league in the U.S.
