Clue 1: I was born in 1743. I wrote the Declaration of Independence, which was adopted on July 4, 1776. It declared that the 13 American colonies were free from Great Britain.
Clue 2: In 1801, I became the third president of the United States. I served a second term until 1809.
Clue 3: I died on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
