Football Great Says Farewell
After 20 years of playing in the National Football League, Jerry Rice, 42, has decided to hang up his jersey. Rice began his record-breaking career in 1985. Since then, he has nabbed every major NFL career and postseason record in receiving--38 in all--including 197 touchdowns and more than 1,500 career receptions.
He spent the first 16 years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers and led the team to three Super Bowl titles. He has been called the greatest wide receiver in NFL history. "I'm done," Rice said. "I'm looking forward to the next phase of my life."
