News Maker: Mohamed ElBaradei
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) works to stop the spread of the world's most powerful weapons, nuclear bombs. The IAEA and its leader, Mohamed ElBaradei, were named the winners of the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. Each year, the Nobel prizes honor excellence in medicine, literature, chemistry, promoting peace and other fields.
ElBaradei, 63, has been at the IAEA, a part of the United Nations, for 21 years. "The award sends a very strong message: Keep doing what you are doing," he said. "In all of our activities, we have to be impartial, objective and work with integrity."
